A Forceful Nature

We were always forceful with our minds — in different ways.

At an early age I can remember willing my toy car to be a real car so that I could actually drive it. Later on, I can also remember “willing”, with all my mental-super-psychokinetic powers, my little brother to look me in the eyes and see that I’ve had the last of it and that he should behave himself this instant!

Perhaps this innocent way of imagining the outside world, bending to our own will is just that: innocent.

As we go and experience the different facets to life, social interactions, intimate relationships, search for meaning, career goals, etc., we come to understand the limits to our powers.

However, the habit remains. The mind continues to forcefully “will” things against Reality.
