Bracing & Anticipating

Bracing ourselves for what “might” happen, sounds logical and quite sensible in the scheme of our regular everyday human calculation processes.

As it turns out, it is quite sensible. Being prepared for what’s to come, helps us to sufficiently meet our destiny in the exact moment it has prepared for us.

What destiny has in store for us is a large combination of the Known and the Unknown.

We could only ever have say in what is already Known. This we can shape and re-mold because it is in our possession. Because it is the Known, we are able to adjust it with additional information, creative sparks, or a subtraction of what is no longer true.

Just beyond the Known is the Unknown. It is continuously flowing into our lives. The very next moment is overwhelmingly unpredictable. This is extremely intimidating, to say the least.

Our frantic anticipation for what comes next, only gives rise to anxiety. For how could one truly be fully prepared for what is new and unknown?

Dealing with the dropped shoe is less paralyzing, apparently, than waiting for that shoe to drop.
