INNOCENCE

A clean slate is the nature of every soul. But little by little we grow to believe that we are damaged.

It might have been because of the environment. It might have been because we inherited something defective in our genes. Or maybe we might have been reading the story incorrectly.

Traumatic experiences have happened in many different forms, from mildest to harshest. These experiences deeply impact the way we now operate and navigate the world. Our tendency is to continue wearing the cloak of these past experiences even when there is no need for it anymore.

Because we have become accustomed to the familiar warmth that this cloak provides, we never seek to change or open up to new possibilities. The fear is that perhaps if we remove it, the said unwanted experience will happen, or even worse. But deep beneath this cloak however, we possess something way more powerful. This is where we find strength in vulnerability, acceptance, trust, love, and all the weaker sounding character traits that we were conditioned to hide.
